Cardinal Chiropractic Rehab & Wellness uses a hands-on, non-invasive, patient-centered approach to musculoskeletal care. Through a number of methods, including joint manipulation, dry needling, cupping, IASTM, active rehab, and more, we are able to help zero in on what may be causing the pain that is slowing you down. While the treatment is important, we value patient education just as much while striving to provide all the necessary information to our patients to help them get back to and maintain a pain free lifestyle.


Dr. Katie Johnson earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Cleveland University-Kansas City in 2020. While at Cleveland, Katie participated in different clubs on campus to help improve her adjusting and clinical skills. To get more hands on experience, she took a chiropractic mission trip to Peru. She is excited to use these experiences to help bring her patients the best care possible.

Dr. Katie grew up in Alma, NE and was very active in academics, athletics, and the community while she lived there. Following her graduation from Alma Public School in 2013, she attended Hastings College where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science.

In her free time, Dr. Katie enjoys traveling, playing board games, and spending time with her friends and family.

Dr. Avery Umphreys earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic and graduated with honors from Cleveland University-Kansas City in 2020. While at Cleveland, Avery took part in different clubs on campus to help improve his clinical skills. On top of the clubs and education learned at school, he took over 500 hours of continuing education which helped elevate his clinical knowledge even more. He is excited to use these tools to help bring his patients the best care possible.

Dr. Avery is from Council Bluffs, IA and graduated from Treynor High School, a small school 10 minutes east of Council Bluffs. There he was involved in many extra-curricular activities. After high school, he attended Missouri Western State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.

In his free time, Avery enjoys playing disc golf, hunting, and hanging out with his girlfriend Katie and their dog Gentry. Avery and Katie enjoy going to the gym, being outside, and trying to keep up with their dog.
